Christantus Uche Fuels Comfortable Crystal Palace Victory at Irish Side Shelbourne.

Even though entering their first-ever continental adventure, Oliver Glasner's side are adapting very quickly. Without star players like forward Jean-Philippe Mateta and wing-back Daniel Muñoz, the Eagles left Dublin with a commanding result that all but guarantees them a place in the Europa Conference League playoffs.

Another three points in their upcoming fixture against Finland's KuPS should be enough to secure direct entry to the last 16, especially after a prior stumble against Strasbourg.

Fringe Players Grasp the Opportunity

This occasion provided a chance for some of Palace's lesser-used players to impress. Christantus Uche, making only his second beginning since arriving on loan from Getafe, opened the scoring with a clinical goal. Following the break, manager Oliver Glasner seized the opportunity to withdraw key players like Kamada and Wharton. Replacement Romain Esse almost scoring his very first touch, but saw his shot blocked.

Esse was incredibly unlucky later on, seeing one shot crash off both posts before being clasped on the line. Uche also missed a glaring chance, showing there is still room for improvement in his game.

The only worry for Palace was a late knock to Justin Devenny, who was forced off. This paved the way for 17-year-old striker Benji Casey to make his first-team debut, rounding off an otherwise positive night for the visiting side.
