This is the team that has secured seven Cricket World Cups, plus six more T20 titles, and previously enjoyed 1,294 days unbeaten in 50-over cricket.

The alternative records, those for the achievement hunters, are all that remain for a team that has accomplished all there is.

The fact it required up to Sunday's victory by three wickets over India for them to complete their first ODI chase over 300, reclaiming their record for the biggest in the female 50-over format, is, honestly, a testament to the pitchers that have represented Australia over the last half-century.

It is hard for their hitters to possess a record if never given the possibility.

Ultimately, the result of Australia giving up 330 runs was skipper Alyssa Healy getting an opportunity to create her latest masterpiece.

Initially recognized as the teenage relative of celebrated previous Aussie wicketkeeper Ian, she made her debut in 2010 after her country didn't secure either of the 20 or 50-over World Cups from the prior year and has seen it all through 15 championship-filled years since.

A T20 World Cup win arrived three months after her bow and seven international trophies have followed from 10 tries across formats.

The gritty keeper was in attendance in Derby in 2017 when a semi-final defeat by India momentarily interrupted the run of success.

That loss "drove us to reconsider our benchmarks," Healy said this week.

At the subsequent ODI World Cup in New Zealand, Healy hit 170 against England in the title decider and was named player of the tournament. She guaranteed her country would not come up short.

The question of whether this recent magnificent innings surpassed that earlier display is debatable.

Certain people claim the reasoning behind final game tension. Different voices suggest with the challenge that comes when confronting a historic chase and an enthusiastic Indian fanbase of 20,000.

What's clear is this century was considerably tougher to see coming.

The Christchurch destruction in 2022 came as she led the batting statistics, but this innings followed six innings in India since the start of last month in which she had failed to pass 30.

"If you've observed me in practice sessions, it's been a disappointing period because it appeared I've had no rhythm at all," stated Healy.

"Yet the moment you step out on the field, your competitive instincts kick in and you just lock into the competition."

Healy's competitiveness has always been her key asset - and an invaluable trait in taking over from iconic ex-skipper Meg Lanning.

She was tormented by India's rising star Kranti Gaud in last month's ODI series, out to the 22-year-old seamer in every game, but this time it merely gave Healy's inspiration.

A single was taken off the bowler's initial ball and from there the right-hander was in motion.

"A chance to go out there and engage in competition with her and simply enjoy myself that way, somewhat inspired me," commented Healy.

She got to fifty in 35 balls - her quickest at the World Cup - and her century in 84 as she attacked short-pitched balls, hitting 21 fours and three maximums.

Once she was dismissed Australia required another 66 at a run-a-ball - an achievable target now needing a comfortable finish.

"Chasing 330 runs is new territory so I am glad we have the confidence to accomplish that now," added Healy.

"Preferably we shouldn't have to do it another time but, should it happen, we are confident we can do it."

Those words will be the last rival teams at this tournament want to hear.

In recent days a sense they will succeed regardless of circumstances has grown stronger - this victory succeeding success over Pakistan by 107 run margin despite sitting at 76-7 at a certain moment.

Next Australia play Bangladesh before a meeting with old rivals England in Indore in a week and a half, by which point a last-four spot may likely be confirmed.

It was in the semi-finals they left the prior year's T20 World Cup in an unexpected loss by South Africa - an encounter Healy was absent due to torn tissue in her foot as she captained her nation for the first time at a significant event.
